Why would a social worker need a blog?

So, here I am having forsaken teaching in favour of a social work MA, only to be told that I need a blog to testify to my IT knowhow.

Personally I would have a thought a social worker keeping a blog is as much use as a fish on a bicycle. You can't exactly talk in any detail about your work and if it's just to rant it would probably be preferable to do one of two things:

1)Get a life
2)Write to your MP if you feel strongly about something

You need to be using it and updating it at least once a week. Make sure your screenshots show the latest entry/date on them.

Welcome to a new Year 12!

OK, so here we are again at the start of a new course. Once again I am wheeling mout my miniscule blog as an example of what I want you to do.

As part of Unit 1 of the BTEC you need to create and maintain a blog. From experience the creation is easy but the maintenance becomes an issue!

Make a point of updating your blog each week otherwise you will not fulfil the demands of the unit. Basic message is don't be a plonker.

Resurrecting my blog

OK, so I was useless at keeping a blog.

But I still think it's an excellent communication tool. I guess one of the problems is that there are just so many excellent communication tools available to us now.

I am going to make some entries so that when I have Year 12 this September I can lead by example in creating a maintaining a blog. That's the plan anyway!

Moving house

Find a house you like, move in , stay there. Moving is stressful. Either that or resist the urge to collect possessions. What you own ends up owning you. Travel light.
